An East Ridge, Tennessee man faces animal cruelty charges after authorities suspect he set a house on fire and forced two dogs into a burning bedroom. Dustin Matthew Sneed was arrested on Thursday and has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty, vandalism, aggravated burglary, aggravated arson and arson.
According to the Chattanoogan Sneed, 30, walked into an unlocked back door of a residence on May 5 and destroyed personal belongings including a lamp and a computer. He then went into the front bedroom and forced the two dogs inside of the burning room.
On his way out of the home, Sneed grabbed a bottle of vodka, walked to a nearby restaurant and asked the staff for a lighter. After being told to leave, Sneed poured vodka on the sidewalk. Sneed is reported to have had painted his face with “dark” coloring.
