In Monroe, a man is facing multiple charges after a search for drugs at his residence uncovered a puppy left in an airtight storage bin.

According to the NewsStar, Mark Newbill, 31, was confronted at his home and asked about drugs. A search of the home on Wednesday uncovered a small puppy inside of an airtight gray storage bin without any holes for the defenseless pup to breathe. No water or food was inside. Another container had been set on top of the bin applying pressure.

When authorities uncovered the bin, the puppy was shaking and very scared. Had the investigating officers not shown up, the puppy would have likely died from suffocation.

Officers also found assorted drugs and marijuana seeds and residue. Newbill has been charged with possession of a  controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia as well as animal cruelty. Bail was set at $4,750: Newbill has since bonded out.

  1. Leave the idiot in his own airtight container. But forget to open it and don’t find him until a week goes by. One less animal abuser to deal with. That’s justice for a change. Eye for an eye works the best for justice for the animals.
