In Floyd County, Kentucky, a man has been accused of killing four of his neighbors dogs and then skinning them to make a “doggy coat.”

According to WkytNews, Jonathan D. Watkins, 38, was arrested in late December by the Kentucky State Police after neighbors contacted authorities concerned Watkins had been covered in blood when he came over asking for a cigarette. When the neighbor asked Watkins about the blood, he reportedly stated he had “been skinning dogs.”

At first the neighbor didn’t believe him, but outside of the suspect’s residence were animal skins and two dead dogs on the porch. Neighbors had reported their dogs missing.

Police found blood on Watkins’ clothing and a ten-inch hunting knife covered in blood telling the officer there was nothing wrong with him making himself a fur coat. He had thrown the dogs’ bodies over a nearby hill.

“I stabbed them in the heart with my knife, skinned them…”

Watkins has been charged with torture of a dog, and tampering with evidence. He remains in the Floyd County Jail.
