Newborn twins in Brazil were mauled to death by one of the family dogs in what has been described as a possible act of “jealousy.”
According to the Daily Mail, Elaine Novais left her one-month-old twins Anne and Analu alone for a short time while she talked to her neighbor at her home in Piripa on Tuesday when her dog – a Labrador retriever and American foxhound mix attacked. When she returned, she dragged the dog away, but the attack had already fatally mauled the babies.
The twins were rushed to the hospital; one baby had reportedly died instantly. The other child succumbed from cardiac arrest and could not be revived.
The dog had been with the family for the past five years, and it is thought the dog may have become jealous because of the lack of attention after the babies were born. According to family and friends, the dogs had always been gentle and affectionate. The second dog is not believed to have been involved in the attack.
It is not known exactly what triggered the dog’s attack. There has not been any information as to what happened to the dog.

When will they learn, you DON”T leave babies alone with a dog, I don’t care how gentle the dog is! Until people start using their heads these tragedies will continue to happen.
