In Wichita Falls, Texas, a 23-year-old man has been charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly kicked and hit a miniature Australian shepherd that reportedly bit him. Matthew Miser was arrested and bond set at $25,000.
According to Texomas, Miser told Iowa Park Police he had been playing with another dog in the yard when the Australian shepherd ran up to him and bit him. Miser had two small puncture wounds on his right hand. The dog’s owner stated she had left the home to run an errand and left the dog with Miser, her boyfriend.
While the dog’s owner was gone, Miser had called her and said he was about to “beat the **** out of the dog” and that he had “kicked the **** out of the dog.”
The dog named Gracie was found in critical condition. The veterinarian who tried to save the dog’s life stated she was comatose on arrival and had suffered from severe bruising in five locations and had a swollen abdomen. Gracie also suffered internal bleeding and injuries to her spleen, intestines and liver. The cause of death was a result of extensive internal bleeding.
Rest in peace Gracie. It’s devastating to think someone could have allegedly kicked you to death for inflicting a small bite.
