Immediate help is needed. At the Fort Worth Animal Care and Control Placement Network, volunteers are calling out to social media for help with two-year-old Church.
Sadly, Church is not doing well and has presented with symptoms of an upper respiratory infection. He has been administered anti-nausea medication as well as injections of antibiotics.
Although his temperature has gone down, Church continues to be nauseous and coughs up blood. He has not been eating and has been moved back to the medical section of the shelter.
Shelter notes on Monday included the following:
“Temperature at 106.8 this morning (1/6) went down to 104 after fluids. Continuously vomiting blood and coughing up blood. Declining food. Very lethargic. Unknown cause. Currently on enrofloxacin and ampicillin injections, receiving subcutaneous fluids.”
Please not that Church remains in the Medical Treatment Ward and has been separated from the other dogs. He has been seen by the veterinarian staff and continues to receive medications. In order to rescue Church, he will have to be adopted with someone willing to be responsible for all medical expenses.
(The shelter provides medical intervention, but be advised they are not a full service veterinarian clinic.)
