If ever a scared dog needed love, it’s this boy who has been through hell

At the Aiken County Animal Shelter, Kai needs his story told; he needs to be rescued and he needs to be loved. A shelter volunteer tells his story.

“It’s a level of fear we haven’t seen in a long time. Kai has been beaten. If he hears a sound while eating, the food falls from his mouth,” Martha Ann Tudor posted on her social media page.

“If ever there was a soul that needed love, it’s Kai.”

The three-year old hound mix weighs 48 pounds, is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. Although he is terrified, he’s kind and submissive and leans into kindness with all he’s got.

“He seems good with other dogs and all people (but he’s too scared for rambunctious or noisy).”

He’ll be brought outside to meet you at your scheduled time. With the shelter closed to visitors per COVID restrictions, social media is the only way Kai has to find a loving home. His adoption fee is $35.
