Humans have failed ‘Snowflake’ and now she is slated to die

Rescued!

In just a few hours, Snowflake will be gone. At only four years of age, she has been dealt a lousy hand by the humans who never cared about her except for profit.  Her breeding and lack of socialization, neglect or abuse and her behavior is directly related to the failure of her humans to help her be her best self.

Snowflake has been at the shelter for eight days, and today she will die because no one has come forward to help. This 54-pound American bully mix has severe barrier aggression and is growling and lunging at people trying to leash her or when opening her kennel. She is in behavioral distress, and that is no condition to be in at an open admission shelter; with Snowflake showing teeth and displaying bite tendencies she cannot stay at the shelter.

Only a rescue group capable of taking on Snowflake should apply. Just saving her life today and sending her to a boarding facility indefinitely without behavior modification work and ensuring her safety, is not fair to Snowflake.

The worst part of all this – it’s not Snowflake’s fault. No one ever taught her that humans can be kind. No one ever worked with her with positive reinforcement and no one ever cared enough to help her become a good canine citizen. It’s not Snowflake’s fault, but today she dies.

  1. SUPER URGENT–PLEASE PLEASE RESCUE ANGELS, PLEASE SAVE SNOWFLAKE! SHE IS SO YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL AND DOESN’T DESERVE TO DIE!

  2. It’s a very sad situation. Totally heartbreaking that a gorgeous dog like Snowflake can’t be saved because no one cared enough to socialize her when she was a puppy…….

Keeping her in boarding won’t save her; she really needs to be socialized.

I hope the shelter or volunteers can reach out to behavior specialists to try to save Snowflake before it’s too late……..

If Snowflake can’t be handled by shelter personnel, then it’s very likely that rescue volunteers will have difficulty with her as well. If she can’t be handled by shelter or rescue personnel, then she absolutely can’t be placed into a family at this time…….

Very few rescue groups can work successfully with extremely aggressive large dogs……. it’s very sad but the harsh reality is that there are very few options for dogs like Snowflake.
