Horribly injured and neglected pony dies after concerned individual shares social media plea

A horribly injured and neglected pony in Louisiana died shortly after a concerned individual reached out for help via social media. Disturbing images of the grievously injured pony were posted to Facebook on Monday, with an explanation of the horrible situation:

okay Facebook, I need some help. I don’t like to post photos like this. But I’m at my Wit’s End. yes that is a horse’s face rotting off while it is alive . I cannot get the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office to do their job

According to the Facebook user, whose name is Joel, the cruel situation was reported to the authorities 27 hours before the post was made. Joel writes:

This is animal cruelty at its worst. This is right off of Highway 190 near the Horse Center right before you get to Oak Road.

Eventually the authorities showed up and removed the injured pony from the property. A subsequent post from Joel indicates that the pony passed away – he writes:

The pony that was rescued last night died. Thanks for trying.

Comments on the initial post indicate that the pony had been attacked by a dog and the injuries were left untreated. It is unclear why the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office took so long to respond to the request for help.

Rest in peace.

Thank you Joel for trying to help. I hope you neighbors call and complain about this poor pony not getting the help he needed, the people that had him should be charged with neglect and cruelty. All other animals should be REMOVED FROM THE PROPERTY!!!
