Horrible neglect of a dog, surrendered to a shelter in Texas, proved to be unsurvivable. Last week, Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform, took in a skeletal dog who they named “Theodora.” The dog had been surrendered and was literally on the brink of death. Despite her dismal condition, the rescue group vowed to fight for her life.
But a happily ever after was not meant to be. Not long after taking Theodora in, the organization let Facebook fans know that she has passed away. The rescue agency recounted what the veterinary hospital told them:
She died on her own, we do not feel she suffered as she still laid in the semi coma! I paused for a moment, that moment of silence felt like a life time went by….
I asked what happened, although I knew she just could not fight, her body was tired and she set herself free! She left this earth knowing nothing but pain, she left this life broken and failed by her family that had her since she was a puppy!
Adding words of disgust about the way this dog was cared for:
This could of been prevented if this family would of taken her to the vet and treated her for her illness, they failed to do that, they failed to provide her with the medical care that could of saved her life!
Her family carried her lifeless body in a crate to the shelter then they pulled her lifeless body out and said we would like her euthanized! They did not give her name just that she had not eaten for a few days!
And an explanation of the untreated disease that ravaged Theodora’s body:
After many test and research they believe she had Diabetes and it went untreated and this is the result of the neglect.
You can not turn a blind eye it is unacceptable, they failed her! Her family let her down!
Theodora did not simply get sick and quickly deteriorate – she seems to have been a victim of long-term neglect. Dallas Dog said:
Her body condition was zero, she was dirty as if she was laying in the dirt. He nails were super long and they needed cut, she has puncture wounds on her legs as if something had tried to attack her but she was to weak to fight back! I cannot even imagine the HELL she was in!
I can not imagine how she felt the last few days left outside in this cold weather, did she have cover to protect her from the rain and cold
?
The rescue agency has vowed to get justice for Theodora and they are working to get the situation investigated.

Theodora, your life mattered. Whilst I am very sad you passed away, I am relieved that you knew love and comfort before you passed away.
I hope you get justice for your terrible neglect from your supposed family. They will burn forever for their cruelty in the hottest part of Hell.
