Helpless dog with her legs severed abandoned in vacant rental home

In the San Antonio area of Texas, a helpless dog was left abandoned in a rental house after the tenants moved away. Even worse, the dog’s back legs had been severed and seemingly chopped off. On Sunday, the owner of the home saw the dog dragging herself around inside the home and immediately called for help.

According to S.N.A.R.R. Animal Rescue Northeast, the dog is now on her way to Austin for emergency veterinary care. At this time, a foster home is still needed.

It is not known what happened to the dog’s legs – was she the victim of a trap, an accident or was this a deliberate act of egregious animal cruelty? It is illegal to abandon any pet.
