Update: Saving Carson Shelter Dogs reports that Opie was adopted on 12/12/20
A handsome, senior German shepherd, eight years of age, is waiting for someone to save him from a busy California animal control agency. The dog, named Opie, has been at the Carson Animal Services facility in Gardena since November 29.
According to the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Facebook page, Opie was picked up as a stray. Given the fact that he is a purebred dog, who appears to be in good condition, it is highly unlikely that he did not have an owner. For reasons unknown, Opie’s person has not come to the facility to claim him.
Opie is undoubtedly confused and upset that he is away from his home, and his people. German shepherds are highly intelligent and devoted companions and long to be with their families.
