His name is Fitz, and he is a seven-year-old black Flat-Coated Retriever. Sadly, Fitz has been scheduled to die on Monday morning. San Antonio Animal Care Services is overcrowded, and those dogs who have not been lucky enough to find homes or rescues are euthanized.

PetHarbor listing:  “I am a male, black Flat-Coated Retriever. The shelter staff think I am about 7 years old.

I was found and am currently at San Antonio Animal Care Services. If you are my owner please make arrangements to pick me up between 11am and noon on 02/01/2020 or immediately head down to our shelter to reclaim. For owner reclaim questions: email [email protected] or call 210-207-6662.

I will need confirmed adoption, foster or rescue placement by 10am on 02/02/2020. Questions regarding adoptions: Email [email protected] or call 210-207-6666. Questions regarding foster or rescue: Email [email protected] or call 210-207-6669.

What makes Fitz’ plight even sadder is his description – pretty near perfect one would say! He is described as calm and “gentleman of a dog.” He sits patiently and waits for treats and attention. He is good on a leash and just a big, fluffy boy. Can you help him?

There isn’t much time to help this boy. Please share his story with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.

    • Oh my gosh. I am in Oklahoma. Is there anyone that has stepped up to save this precious baby? This is heartbreaking. ??? I have 6 rescues. They make the very best dogs!!

  1. Any update on this senior gentleman? He is NLL. Does this mean:
    Adopted?
    Rescued?
    Euthanized?
Would appreciate an update (even if the news is sad).
