At the City of San Bernardino Animal Control, volunteers work together to help the endless parade of unwanted and stray dogs pouring into the shelter. Heartbreaking, innocent victims – this little pup half-starved and terrified showing her teeth because she is terrified and just trying to protect herself.
“How can you not tell the difference between terrified and aggressive when you work in an animal shelter?, shelter volunteer Lois Chisholm asked. Look at this poor baby girl. First of all, she appears to be starved half to death and she’s so scared, she’s probably showing her teeth and growling to protect herself.”
