A gruesome attack at a farm in Parma, Ohio, left multiple animals injured and dead. On November 1, Stearns Homestead broke news of the tragedy to Facebook fans writing:
Dear Farm Friends…
It is with a heavy heart that we tell you that we have lost two goats and a sheep ….we found Bert in the goat pasture dead this morning and upon further examination of the other bigger goats and sheep discovered that Moose and Billy were also severely injured. Our veterinarian arrived within the hour and recommended that both be euthanized.
Other animals were injured, but a veterinarian believes that they will pull through. It is unknown exactly what the animals were attacked with. There were no gun casings found and an attack by a wild animal has been ruled out.
The authorities have been notified and are investigating. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is behind this cruel act. On November 2, the city of Parma wrote:
The Parma Police Department and Parma animal control officer are investigating the death and injury of goats and sheep that occurred this past weekend at Stearns Homestead. This is the first time the farm has experienced an incident like this. Police are actively searching for the criminal(s) who harmed these animals.
