Good Samaritan finds starving little senior dog scavenging the streets

A Good Samaritan was shocked when she found a tiny senior dog scavenging for food on the streets of Upland, California.

“On my walk tonight I found this beyond emaciated little chihuahua, my jaw dropped I couldn’t even believe someone has let this poor baby in this condition. My heart instantly broke, I scooped him up. Even after all of this he was so friendly and sweet,” posted an animal advocate on social media Thursday evening.

4 Dogs Farm Rescue stepped forward and immediately rushed him to their partner veterinarian We Talk Pets. He was named Harry, and sadly had literally been starving to death. How does a four-pound, senior dog survive on the streets by himself?

Harry suffers from severe dehydration and is estimated to be about 10-12 years of age. A slow feeding regimen has been started, and followup laboratory tests and radiographs will be done to better assess the dog’s overall condition.

“He’s very sweet and obviously been begging on the streets for help,” Dennise Totes, the founder of the rescue posted on Facebook, ” and although he’s eating, he’s swaying back and forth.
