In Wichita, Kansas, an animal rescue group couldn’t turn their backs on a one-year-old German shepherd suffering from the deadly parvo virus. The puppy was scheduled to be “mercy euthanized” at the city shelter, but rescuers and animal advocates alike, made the decision this pup deserves the chance to live.
On Saturday afternoon, Beauties and Beasts, Inc. transported Elvis to the emergency hospital. Parvo treatments typically require from four to seven days in the hospital and often times even a longer period of time. The cost of this treatment can be astronomical, but doesn’t Elvis deserve to live?
“Imagine how heartbroken everyone would have been if we posted a Rest In Peace that he was put to sleep, please even if you can spare just a small amount, we are begging,” the rescue organization posted on their Facebook page.
And one more point:
“…Rescue is about taking a leap of faith, rescue is saving a life that no one else wanted knowing they cannot save themselves and doing something about it. It’s what we do. We need you.”
