Update: Rescued/safe!

An elderly dog, held at a Texas animal control agency, is facing an untimely demise despite a friendly demeanor. On Thursday, a social networking page issued a plea for Thor, a 12-14 year-old dog:

Up for Euthanasia……….please share

Thor is a senior (12-14 years old) staffie. His ears appear to have been home-cropped, he has a large growth on his front leg, he is underweight (54 pounds), and he needs dental work. No doubt he will rack up some medical bills.

Thor’s original name was Chief, the Facebook post explains:

His previous neighbor said his real name is Chief and he is a great dog who was always lounging around. He knows how to sit and shake and is also great with other dogs. Thor/Chief is a gentle giant who is just looking for a couch to spend his last few years on.

Thor/Chief is being held at the Kleberg County Animal Control agency and he needs help now.

Information to save this boy’s life

Rescues can email their tag and 501(c)(3) to [email protected]. Thor/Chief is dog ID#1488.
