In El Paso, Texas, a man was arrested for allegedly using his dog as a punching bag by repeatedly hitting him as the dog yelped in pain.
According to the news release posted by the El Paso Government, Dennis Zamora, 27, faces animal cruelty charges after the El Paso Police Department’s Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit received a report he had been physically abusing a one – two year old, mixed breed dog named Scooby.
Video surveillance footage obtained by detectives showed Zamora punching the dog at least 12 times on August 27; the dog submitted to Zamora while crying out in pain.
There have not been any updates on Scooby’s condition nor where he is being cared for at this time.
Zamora was arrested in lieu of a $5,197 bond. He also had three outstanding Class C warrants.
