Someone tied two dogs up and abandoned them in the middle of nowhere. According to the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa, the dogs were secured to the tree by tightly wound extension cords. The animal welfare agency explains:
Today we got a call about two dogs tied up to a tree with an extension cord. The extension cords were tightly wound up around the tree, the dogs didn’t have much room to move.
We had to cut the cords just to free the dogs. One dog had the cord so tight around his neck he was having trouble breathing. They were left at an unoccupied abandoned building in the middle of the country.
The dogs were rescued and have been dubbed Bonnie and Clyde. The shelter writes:
We are unsure how long they have been out there. With the dedication of the staff and volunteers we were able to give them both a bath and get them settled in.

The shelter hopes that someone with information will contact the authorities, writing:
If you know who dumped these two dogs, please call your local law enforcement and report them. Cruel acts such as these should not go unpunished.
The dogs will be made available for adoption after they are given a clean bill of health.
