A dog was found shaking uncontrollably from pain after someone nearly shot off his leg. The Wilson County No Kill Animal Shelter posted a plea for help on behalf of the injured dog on Thursday night, writing:
The dog had wandered into the carport of a home – actively bleeding with a nearly severed paw. It appears to be a gunshot wound that grazed the left front leg, blew out the right front leg and grazed the right rear leg toe. He was shaking uncontrollably; likely from pain and infection.
A veterinarian suspects that the dog was shot approximately 24 hours before being found – fortunately, his prognosis for survival is good. But, he needs extensive veterinary care, which is expensive. The shelter writes:
Our vet gave us a high-end estimate of $1,340. We have named this boy Mondo. Can you help with getting him the help he needs?
