Dog died in the heat
Spread the love

It should go without saying – dogs overheat and die when they are not provided with adequate protection from the sun. A devastatingly sad image of a dog who died in the heat was posted to social media on Monday.

The brief explanation states:

This poor Golden Retriever was left out in the sun Sunday July 19 ( owners were home ) on West Coleman Rd. and died of a heat stroke.

The deadly incident happened in Somerset, Kentucky, but this can (and does) happen anywhere that it gets hot. Dogs cannot be left outside on a tether, without adequate protection from the sun. Dogs cannot be denied fresh, cool water. Dogs cannot be left to suffer. Without question, the dog in this heartbreaking photo suffered greatly before dying, and it never should have happened.

If you see a tethered dog suffering in the heat, please contact the authorities and/or animal control agency as soon as possible. It does not take long for a dog to become overheated and died.

Rest in peace innocent one.

  1. This needs to stop. I am an admin to an animal advocacy group and a co-founder of another in Ohio. I would be glad to help any way we can to get the word out about this animal abuse. Please message me whenever you need to. Ty

  2. That’s a heartbreaking sight. I hope they charged whoever left this poor baby out like that to die. When it’s hot out, mine are in the air conditioned house with me. There is NO excuse for this!

  3. You know this dog barked and barked and barked and the “owners” sat on their big fat lazy butts in the air conditioned house and ignored the begging cries of the poor dog. Can we chain them in the sun till they die? My dog barks at the door when she’s ready to come in.
