Update: Pebbles has been rescued! Moved to the “safe” album on 12/24/20

Days before Christmas, an elderly dog finds herself alone at a busy California animal control agency. The 11-year-old dog, named Pebbles, was surrendered by her family, who told shelter staff that she was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago.

On Wednesday, the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Facebook page writes of Pebbles’ sadness and confusion:

PEBBLES was left 3 days before Christmas because they said she’s ill and you can see she is completely lost and confused right now. She doesn’t deserve this 💔 Please SHARE she needs an Adopter or Foster and Rescue to save her.

Saving Pebbles

Owner surrenders are the first dogs who can and will be euthanized at open-intake shelters. Please help save Pebbles’ life by sharing her adoption information.

  1. Do people really think there is a long line of potential adopters for a medically fragile furbaby???
I hope a local adopter or rescue can open their heart and home for this precious treasure!!!

It is heartbreaking to think of furbabies being euthanized when they should be with their family…… to me, the worst fate is to be euthanized alone, afraid, in pain and unloved…….
