A retired basketball player has been receiving mixed reviews for one of his latest Twitter videos with many internet users claiming giving a cat ice cream to watch it have a “brain freeze” is nothing short of animal cruelty.
The video, posted by Rex Chapman, went viral earlier this week; a trend showing cats tasting ice cream which in turn gives the cat brain freeze – and suddenly that’s supposed to be funny? So let’s have fun at an innocent’s cat suffering?

The video shows someone feeding a cat ice cream – probably for the first time. The cat carefully smells the food – it’s sweet and appealing, but as soon as it tastes the coldness, its jaw opens and its eyes gape out widely while it shakes its head and falls back on the chair. That’s funny?
Adult cats are lactose intolerant which can lead to gastrointestinal and digestive problems. Surely, many of us who have been victim to a “brain freeze” understand it’s not funny, so why in the world would you submit your favorite feline to pain?
One twitter follower told Chapman that she had a cat who enjoyed eating the melted ice cream out of her bowl, however it wasn’t freezing, but the kitty was still in pain. The woman suggested this not be shared as a “funny cat video.”
