A Bradenton, Florida resident, Robert Leroy Edwards, allegedly used an electrical cord to strangle someone else’s dog on Wednesday; hanging the helpless animal from a tree for barking.  Edwards, 38, then beat up a child who would not help him hide the dog’s body.

According to Fox News, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Edwards and charged him with felony child abuse, battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and felony animal torture; inflicting serious pain resulting in the death of an animal.

The sheriff’s report stated Edwards killed the dog and walked into the house  asking a family member to help him hide the dog’s body, but the family member refused. That is when deputies say Edwards punched the family member in the face. When another family member woke up and saw the lifeless body of the dog, he began arguing with Edwards who then hit the second victim in the face multiple times.

Edwards is being held in jail without bond.
