A couple is wanted by the authorities for abandoning their dogs at a rented trailer house in Atascosa County, Texas. On Thursday, the Atascosa County Animal Control issued a release about the abandonment, writing:

Atascosa County Animal Control has filed two counts of animal cruelty by abandonment on Veronica Turney and John Whitfield. It is alleged that these two individuals moved from a trailer house that they were renting and left their dogs behind.
Detailing how Turney and Whitfield made sure they gathered up their personal belongings for the move:
They made sure to take the furniture and personal property from the house but not the dogs. Atascosa County animal control was contacted by the landlord after he had made several attempts to get them to come and get the dogs. Atascosa County animal control investigator Roland Jiminez led the investigation and was able to establish probable cause that led to filing these two warrants on each individuals. The pets were seized as evidence and this case will be determined in a court of law.
