Meet Dusty and Jazzy; the two bonded German shepherds mixes were believed to have been dumped and left to wander the streets. They were hungry, scared and lost, but stayed by each other’s side with only each other to trust and provide comfort.
Dusty and Jazzy were brought to the SEACCA shelter in Downey, California. Finally, someone was there to help them – the dogs were fed and given shelter, but no one has ever come to visit with them or offered to foster or adopt them. On Tuesday morning when the shelter reopens, the plans are to euthanize Dusty and Jazzy together.
“Code Red” SEAACA and it means that the dogs were sent out on an email to all rescue partners and identified as dogs with no public or rescue interest. That is as close as SEAACA gets to euth notice,” animal rescue advocate Alissa wrote on her Facebook page, explaining the urgency. “In this case I am also told the urgency has been confirmed because the shelter even sent out a follow up email to a rescue seeing it they could take them. That means they need OUT.”
Dusty is the male dog. He is a three-year-old German shepherd, weighing 94 pounds. According to shelter volunteers, he has no negative behavior or medical notes and is already neutered. #20-17882.
Jazzy is the female dog. She is a three-year-old German shepherd weighing 61 pounds. She was frightened when brought to the shelter, but she has since calmed down and is being handled. Sadly, Jazzy is suffering from kennel cough, and she will need to have veterinarian care. #20-17881.

Hopefully the rescue will come through in time for these two precious furbabies…….. There are lots of pledges, but the more pledges, the better…….
Sadly on their Facebook page there was a picture of many large breed furbabies who had been euthanized……. It’s absolutely disgusting and heartbreaking to see all those beautiful dogs lying there dead……. The goal of animal rescuers is to prevent these tragic deaths……. AND to rehome furbabies into loving furever families……..
I have had a good cry….. the first dog (the black & white one reminds me of our neighbor’s Great Dane, who was a sweet giant couch potato, & he thought he was a lap dog)???????
