In Los Angeles, the CEO of an environmental risk and compliance management consulting firm, was videoed allegedly abusing his four-month-old puppy in the condominium where he lives. Jeffrey Previte was caught on surveillance cameras beating his puppy while the defenseless pooch whimpered in fright and pain.

According to the Daily Mail, the building’s concierge in the condominium said he heard the dog’s cries from his seat at the front desk and filed a report with the police about the incident.

“I heard the dog screaming and when I looked on the camera, I saw him beating the dog,” the concierge said.

The video shows Previte finding something on the ground near the puppy named Bici and then grabbing the pup by the side of his head, yanking him off the ground grabbing the dog by its skin, shaking him and then slapping the defenseless pooch multiple times.

When the door opened, Previte could be seen carrying Bici with his hand around the puppy’s throat and then by its collars. He then slaps the pup again before carrying it as he walked off-camera.

Previte claims he is a victim of extortion by the  building’s concierge who called him on August 22.

“He attempted to extort money from me so that he wouldn’t report it to the building.”

Additionally, Previte claimed what he did was not illegal, although on Thursday evening the Santa Monica Police Department wrote in a tweet that its Animal Services Unit is investigating the incident for a possible violation of Penal Code 597(a).

In a report from the IBTimes, the disturbing video footage shared on social media resulted in the EBI Consulting website to remove Previte  from its leadership page, where he was listed as the Vice Chairman and Co-CEO. Jeffrey was announced as the Co-Chief Executive Officer along with his brother Nolan Previte in a blog post on Aug. 20.

The company, whose founder and Executive Chairman Jeffrey and Nolan’s father, Frank E. Previte, has also de-activated all of its social media accounts.
