Cats died in shelter fire

Cats killed in devastating shelter fire

Cats in the care of a Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, animal shelter were killed in a devastating structure fire that broke out early Friday morning, Camp Papillon Animal Shelter broke the heartbreaking news to Facebook followers, writing:

This morning Camp Papillon Animal Shelter suffered a devastating loss. Our cat cottage was completely destroyed by fire and all 10 furbabies in our care died.

To us, each and every little life is important. Each had their own stories of survival. They all made it here through challenges, 4 have been with us since March of 2019 rescued from a hoarding situation. Thanks to the best staff and volunteers they were surrounded by love, some for the first time in their lives.

Each cat who died in the blaze was named, and their loss acknowledged:

Sabrina, Stella and Guinness were just kittens. Brayleigh, Belle, Nancy, Dennie, Hugo, Tango and Tao will be the angels helping us from above as we refocus and rebuild to continue the work we have always done.
