Cat euthanized after getting stuck in illegal trap

Cat suffers horrible injuries after being stuck for ‘prolonged time’ in illegal trap

A cat suffered horrific injuries after getting stuck for a “prolonged” period of time in an illegal trap. According to the Idaho Humane Society, by the time the cat was discovered, it was too late. The animal welfare agency stated:

We did our best to save this cat, but it had suffered for a prolonged period of time and had neurological issues; it would no longer eat and use the bathroom. In this case, the kindest decision was humane euthanasia.

The cat was picked up by humane officers who retrieved it from a conifer trap near an elementary school off Maple Grove and Victory in Boise.

A request for help

The shelter is asking for assistance to find out who is responsible for putting the illegal trap out. The agency stated:

Why this trap was placed is a mystery, and we are asking for your help in identifying who placed the illegal trap: please email outreach@idahohumanesociety.org with any leads.
