A career criminal has been arrested for allegedly threatening his girlfriend and killing her puppy. As reported by KAKE News, 44-year-old Jesse Powell, of Wichita, Kansas, was arrested on Thursday night for criminal threat and cruelty to animals.
Wichita Police spokesman, Charley Davidson, said that the Domestic Intervention Violence Reduction Team was investigating a domestic threats case. He said:
The DIVRT officers were working to locate Powell who was wanted on threat charges, and during the investigation they had learned that Powell had fatally injured his girlfriend’s puppy.”
KAKE News lists a laundry list of prior convictions for Powell including:
aggravated criminal threat, stalking, aggravated battery, drug possession, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and battery of a law enforcement officer.
Powell has been repeatedly been in prison and work release programs between 1999 and 2018.
