Bonded dogs dumped ‘moving and can’t take them with us’

Two bonded dogs were surrendered to the City of San Bernardino Animal Control in California on Wednesday because their owners were “moving and can’t take them with us.”

According to the owners of Bucket and Rossi, the dogs are each one-year-of-age, however the shelter has listed them as five years old. In addition the shelter has decided to separate the dogs, and with that separation came Bucket’s anxiety when Rossi was moved to another part of the kennel. And in both frustration and fright, poor Bucket suffered the consequences of an indifferent attitude so often associated with animal shelters.

“Both dogs are great with kids. The shelter has decided to separate them and to further punish Bucket by placing him in the isolation (hidden and off limits to public) and labeling him ‘rescue only’ because he’s now terrified and worried about his girl, Rossi.

Oh… and even though Rossi’s clearly had at least one litter, the owner mentioned she MAY be pregnant again?…”
