A bedraggled, badly neglected dog was found in a soggy cardboard box in Richland, Washington. The dog, dubbed Wilbur, is currently with Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue, which recounted how he was found, and his medical concerns:
He was found tied to a van in an alley with a wet cardboard box for shelter. His mouth is rotting, he has a heart murmur, and he is completely shut down.
The rescue group explained why it will be awhile before Wilbur can be adopted:
It will likely be months before we can begin considering adoption as an option for Wilbur. Not only does he have some major medical issues that need to be addressed, Wilbur needs time to remember what it is to be a dog, and to learn to be a beloved family member.
