Authorities in Las Vegas, Nevada, have launched an investigation following a disturbing discovery at an area park. As reported by KTNV News, on Friday, a bag containing a dead dog and puppies was found at the Desert Breeze Park.
The man who found them, Joe, tells the news agency:
There was a mother dog and a few puppies in there that someone had tied up, and looks like they may have suffocated them.
It was Joe’s dog who sniffed out the odorous plastic bag containing the deceased dogs. The police have been notified. Joe said “Police were saying that the bag had been there for probably a few days because of the decomposing of the animals.”
The man who found the bag of dogs hopes that others will consider a humane alternative – he said:
Drop the dogs off at a shelter, or even the fire department, police department, instead of wrapping them in a plastic bag and dumping them in the desert,
