Two badly neglected dogs were humanely euthanized after being seized from deplorable conditions in Stuart, Florida. As reported by CBS 12 News, the Yorkshire terriers were living in squalid conditions in a trailer on NE 16th Street.
Deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office found two dogs in pitiful condition inside of Jerry Tillman’s residence. The authorities found a total of four dogs inside of cages which were stacked on top of each other. The trailer was littered with debris and was “not clean.” The dogs which had to be put down were suffering from a multitude of issues, including flea infestation, filthy, matted fur, blindness, and growths on the body. After the dogs were taken to a veterinarian to be evaluated, humane euthanasia was recommended.
Two other dogs, aside from the ones who were euthanized, were seized from Tillman’s residence. The dogs’ owner is facing two counts of animal cruelty resulting from his “care,” or rather lack thereof, of the dogs.
