Dog shot and left for dead

Authorities search for whoever shot dog and left her for dead

Police in Kershaw County, South Carolina, are hoping to find whoever is responsible for shooting a dog and leaving her for dead. The Friends of Kershaw County Humane Society posted images of the dog on Saturday and recounted how she was found:

“Jesse” WAS SHOT! 🔥

Left for dead on Knights Hill Rd! She was found in a ditch with a bloody trail! You thought you killed her, but you didn’t! A staff member found her & loaded her & swiftly got help! Kershaw County Humane Society rushed her to Camden Veterinary Hospital & she has been stabilized. She is on fluids, pain meds & antibiotics.

A subsequent post indicates that Jesse has since found a rescue agency to take her in.

Survivor “Jesse” 🧡

She was transferred to our rescue partner this morning. She was sedated mildly for the trip & will receive the rest of her care under them. 🐶 She is going to need further attention on the leg/shoulder (bullet wound area) & possible cast/splinting. This will all be determined by the rescue & their veterinarian. 🧡

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call 803-425-1512.
