A woman fighting for animal rights outside of a Burlington, Ontario, slaughterhouse was run over and killed by a transport truck full of pigs. On Friday, the Toronto Pig Save Facebook page broke news of Regan Russell’s untimely and tragic death, writing:
We are devastated to announce the tragic death of Regan Russell, a compassionate animal advocate who was killed today outside of the Fearmans Pork Inc. slaughterhouse in Burlington, Ontario in Canada. Regan died after being run over by a transport truck full of pigs.
VegNews reports that Russell was part of a group who was gathered outside of Fearman Pork to give water to the pigs who were headed to slaughter. According to the news agency, the truck sped up and ran over Russell. It is unclear if the driver of the truck will be facing any charges.
Russell is described as a compassionate woman who was a mentor to others. Toronto Pig Save is honoring her memory with a vigil:
Toronto Pig Save will be holding a candlelight vigil outside Fearmans slaughterhouse to honour her life. Just like we speak up against Fearmans for murdering innocent beings, we will not stand back as that industry of death shamelessly steals the life of a warrior. She died fighting against an industry that hides the truth, as shown by the passing of “Ag gag” legislation, Bill 156, just days ago.
Regan was a wife, a daughter, a best friend, and we will not let the candles go out.

OMG: that poor woman…… condolences to her family and friends…… I have absolute faith that Ms. Russell is in Heaven reunited with all her beloved family and friends who passed before her….. RIP Ms. Russell, there will be eternal punishment for the POS who murdered you……
I read (in another article) that the truck driver sped up to deliberately run her over….. if this is indeed the situation, that POS has just earned a reserved place in the hottest part of Hell where he will burn forever for his cruelty……. he can’t get to Hell fast enough!!!
