The American dentist from Minnesota is believed to be back to slaughtering animals for his trophy collection. Walter Palmer, 60, returned from another hunting trip in Mongolia  after killing an Altai argali – the largest sheep in the world.

Palmer sparked global outrage after killing Cecil the lion in 2015 in Zimbabwe with a bow and arrow. At the time Cecil the Lion was killed, he had wandered close to the boundary when Palmer paid $65,000 to shoot and kill the lion  Social media erupted when news of the beloved lion’s death was announced, and Palmer hid for weeks – including temporarily having to suspend his dental practice.

Cecil and his pure magnificent stature brought smiles and admiration from across the world. The 13-year-old lion did not die immediately that awful night he was shot, and suffered for hours until he was tracked down and killed the next day. Palmer was originally charged for illegally hunting the lion, however charges were later dropped

According to the Mirror, Palmer reportedly paid nearly $100,000 to hunt the argali – his face had been edited out of the photo next to another hunter. The hunting expedition occurred last year. The ram is a species in danger of extinction.

During his trip to Mongolia, Palmer, accompanied by his friend Brent Sinclair, shared the post on Facebook in 2019. The photos and description emerged on social media five years after Cecil’s death.

“Another great adventure has come and gone, one to be put in the memory book for sure. Just back from Mongolia, and it’s almost like it was only a dream,” Sinclair posted.

“We saw rams every day and climbed around the hills in Altai region getting as close as 20 yards one day to sheep bigger than I could imagine.”

Sinclair boasted how he and Palmer have been trophy hunting for the last 20 years.
