Abandoned pup hid in the railroad tracks as train passed over him

A very clever Jack Russel terrier had been abandoned at the railroad tracks and dutifully waited for his owner to return. The five-year-old pup, now named Coco by the staff at the West Los Angeles Shelter, hid in the tracks as the train would run over him. Luckily for Coco, his only injuries were scrapes and cuts.

Sadly, Coco’s owner never returned, and on November 27, he was brought to the shelter. A volunteer describes this adorable little guy:

” Coco is a super cool little dude who is the perfect size for someone who wants an “in-between” dog – not too big and not too small. Coco was abandoned at the railroad tracks and he hid in the the tracks and the train would run over him. He didn’t suffer any major injuries but he had lacerations and scrapes all over which are now healed. Coco has a wonderful easygoing temperament and is friendly with people, kids and with other dogs, though he may possibly have a little separation anxiety. He takes treats gently and is easy on leash. Please open your home and heart to this friendly fellow.”

Note: Coco has become very friendly with another dog named Howie who entered the shelter after his owner was hospitalized. Since then, Coco and Howie have become extremely bonded.
