Abandoned and broken, Angel was left in a crate in a vacant home for a month

On Friday, an animal control agency in North Carolina introduced Facebook page followers to a puppy named Angel, who survived what should have been unsurvivable. The Randolph County Animal Services agency recounted the dog’s horrific situation, writing:

Angel was found in an airplane crate in an abandoned home. She was abandoned in a home with no food or water for 30 days. She had no human contact, no one to care for her.

Despite the cruelty she endured, Angel craves affection from people:

Even extremely emaciated and broken, Angel gives kisses and wants to be loved. She longs for human affection despite being let down by the people who were supposed to love her the most. She was let down by people who should have loved and cared for her. RCAS has promised her that this will never happen again, she will not be let down by the people who care for her now.

Against all odds, Angel survived, and now the animal welfare agency hopes to find her the perfect home where she can be spoiled and loved for the remainder of her life.

Angel deserves a second chance, a second chance to love and be loved. A chance to play in tall grass, to have a favorite toy, to have a family she can spend the rest of her life with.

But Angel is in poor condition and needs round-the-clock veterinary care to help her survive.
