A soft place to land for shelter dog with aggressive cancer

Just days after a Texas shelter posted a plea on behalf of a dog with aggressive cancer, it was announced that he has found a soft place to land. The dog, a pit bull named Beso, has terminal cancer and the Humane Society of Central Texas wanted to make sure that he would be in a home, not at the shelter, for the rest of his days.

On May 7, the animal welfare agency wrote:

We now know that Beso suffers from an aggressive form of cancer that will send him to the #RainbowBridge, likely in the next 2 months. Here at the Humane Society, we cannot let him leave this Earth without experiencing a loving home!

On May 9, just two days after after reaching out to the public for help, the shelter announced that Beso has a home for what remains of his life, writing:

Today, we found that home 🏠 ! As you can tell, Beso is over the moon 🌙 about his new foster mom Carol! We all had happy tears for our boy. He will get to spend the rest of his life being spoiled and loved ❤️. We cannot thank everyone enough for reaching out to us about our sweet boy!

The shelter staff thanked everyone who stepped up to help Beso, and asks that the public remember that other dogs are still waiting for their chance at a happily-ever-after as well. If you are interested in helping a shelter dog, contact us at 254-754-1454 to make an appointment!
