A New Jersey woman was arrested and is facing charges after 20 dogs were found living in “deplorable” conditions at her home in Shamong Township. According to multiple sources, several of the dogs found at Marissa Corbett’s home were in “critical conditions.”

Corbett reportedly runs a dog training and boarding business from her home – according to NJ.com, she is affiliated with Above & Beyond Dog Training, which no longer has an active website or Facebook page.

Five of the dogs found inside of the home on Oakshade Road required urgent veterinary care; one dog did not survive. The authorities stated that there was “evidence of animal cruelty inflicted upon the dogs on the property,” and the stench from feces and ammonia was enough to make some of the first responders sick.

The surviving dogs have been transferred to the Burlington County Shelter for care. Corbett is facing multiple charges, including one count of third-degree animal cruelty, 19 counts of fourth-degree animal cruelty, and 40 counts of disorderly persons offense of animal cruelty; she has been released from custody.
