Woman alleged to have drowned her dog receiving death threats

In Merrimack, New Hampshire, the woman who allegedly pushed her Golden retriever into a lake and didn’t help the dog as it drowned, has been receiving death threats as well as packages of dog feces arriving in the mail. Nancy Bucciarelli, 66, was arrested on June 14 and charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty.

On Friday, Bucciarelli’s attorney, Roger “Rusty” Chadwick, issued a statement asking the public to let justice prevail.  According to WhdhNews, Bucciarelli  shoved the 11-year-old dog into the Naticook Lake and watched as the dog struggled to swim and drowned within a few minutes. Witnesses tried to help the 11-year-old dog, named Bailey but were too late. An investigation determined Bucciarelli made no attempt to help her dog in the 3 1/2 feet of water.

“Nancy has not only lost her dog but is now public enemy number one locally and nationally,” Chadwick stated. “Her life attacked online and in person and at her own home by people who want to line up outside the courthouse with their dogs when she goes to court. Where are those people every day when those accused of harming children and assaulting strangers on the street go to court?”

Chadwick continued with his client’s defense stating that Bailey loved the water and would frequently swim under water looking for stones.  Just days before the incident, Bucciarelli had taken the dog to the vet for his rabies shot. In addition to dog feces arriving in the mail, sentiments were also received calling for her children and grandchildren to drown as well as threats to arrive at her home and make her suffer.

As the news of Bailey’s death quickly reached social media, the outrage escalated. The Union Leader stated Merrimack Police Chief Denise Roy also issued a call for restraint.

Bucciarelli is currently free on personal recognizance.

And are we supposed to feel sorry for this killer? Sorry I don’t. You reap what you sow! May she rot in hell for what she did to her faithful dog! I don’t get comparing this to harming children and strangers. Is this supposed to less of an evil? Not in MY book!
