In San Antonio, Texas, a woman has been accused of drowning her friend’s dog in a bathtub. On Tuesday, Sarah Ingram, 34, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty – a third degree felony.
According to KsatNews, James Lopez, the owner of the three-year-old dog, called authorities on July 30 to report the animal’s death. Ingram had been at the home taking a shower, and later told the dog’s owner she had drowned the dog. The man did not see his dog around and ran into the bathroom to find his pet submerged in the tub.
The pet owner told police he had been helping Ingram because she had been homeless and just released from the San Antonio State Hospital the day the dog was killed.
Ingram’s bond has been set at $10,000. She has previously been arrested for burglary and prostitution.
