Where is my family? A question 12-year-old Buster is certainly pondering after his family left him at a busy California animal control agency. The elderly mixed breed dog has been at the Carson Animal Services facility since March 3 – will anyone be interested in offering this old boy a home?
On Saturday, the volunteer-run Facebook page, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, wrote:
BUSTER was left at the Shelter after 12 years with his family because they could no longer afford his care. He is so special, calm and gentle and he needs help fast, there are NO EMPTY KENNELS! Please SHARE for his life, he’s SO special and a FOSTER or ADOPTER would save him. Thanks!
The facility is full – there are purebred dogs, healthy dogs, young dogs, and puppies. Is there anyone out there for a mixed breed dog who has already enjoyed the best years of his life?
Buster won’t find a rescue group, or a loving home, if people are unaware that he is there. Please take a moment to network this article and help Buster find his new person.

Please help darling senior Buster! This is a high kill facility!
What happened recently to make the dog more expensive than the last 11 years? I more than anyone can understand an elderly dog can cost a bunch in vet bills, medicines and such, that is why my credit cards are stretched to the limits. I am now dealing with a 12 year old Beagle with liver cancer and the tests, surgeries and medicines are expensive, but I do what I have to because she is ours and I wouldn’t abandon her for the world. I hope Buster is lucky enough to be seen by someone, or an organization that takes in senior dogs and they rescue him. He certainly didn’t deserve to be abandoned like this!
What a sweet face….. I wish I could foster, but our house is a construction project…..
What about “Frosted Faces” or “No Paws Left Behind”? These groups often help seniors…..
Does anyone know how to reach these groups???
