Officials in Brevard County, Florida, want to find the person who heartlessly dumped a puppy, bound in a sheet, in the middle of a busy intersection. According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the person responsible was driving a small, black sports car.

WESH News released a video of Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey’s plea for help. In the video, the sheriff states that the individual who abandoned the pup left him “to die” and added that he wants that person in jail. The cruel incident happened around 8 a.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Parkway Drive and Wickham Road.

The pup was rescued by a city parks and recreation employee who was working nearby – the puppy is safe and unharmed.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to reach out to the authorities. The Melbourne Police can be reached at 321-608-TIPS and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office can be reached at 321-633-2024.
