Meet Violet; just two-years-old and an innocent victim of neglect and abuse just can’t catch a break. Two weeks ago, the malnourished dog was brought into Lancaster Animal Care and Control in California. I Stand With My Pack stepped up to help.

PetHarbor listing:  ID#A5263036

“My name is Violette and I am described as a female, tan Chinese Sharpei

The shelter thinks I am about 2 years and 1 month old.

I have been at the shelter since Mar 18, 2019.”

When the rescue organization arrived to transfer Violet, the traumatized dog bit the officer who tried to leash her. Because of the incident, Violet was not able to leave the shelter and was ordered to spend the next ten days in quarantine.

“We called and emailed everyone we possibly could to see if she would be allowed to be pulled prior to 10 day quarantine is up, but we didn’t have luck as this quarantine is mandated by L.A County Department of Health Services and not by the shelter directly,” the group wrote on their Facebook page to the dismay of hundreds of animal advocates coordinating funds to help the dog.

Violet has now been released to a veterinary hospital and will remain there until her quarantine is complete. Once the quarantine is over, I Stand With My Pack will take over.

  1. She was traumatized so that’s why she bit! Many blessings to all the Great Samaritans! Please keep us updated on how she is doing!
