Video shows dog chasing after van after being left on road

A heartbreaking video captured the moment a dog chased after a van near Milton, West Virginia. As reported by WCVB 5 News, someone in a dark colored van slowly drove away after letting the chocolate Labrador retriever out of the vehicle.

Bob Edmonds recorded what happened and posted the video to Facebook. The footage was viewed over 150,000 times. Edmonds told the news agency, “I just don’t know how anybody could do that.” Stephanie Elswick saw the video and decided that she had to do something.

Though the odds of finding the dog were slim, she went to the area where the video was taken and eventually spotted the dog tied up in someone’s yard. She learned that the family had found the dog in the road and tied him up for his own safety – the dog has since been taken to Huntington Animal Control, where numerous people have expressed an interest in giving him a home.

As for the person who was driving the van…someone has phoned WSAZ News and claims that his girlfriend was driving the van and had dropped the dog off in the area after he followed her. She allegedly as trying to return the dog to where he came from – the situation remains under investigation.
