An officer from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina rescued a starving dog on Thursday morning that had been left tied to a tree for the last three months. Rescue Dogs Rock NYC were called and asked to help in  this heartbreaking case of abandonment, abject cruelty and neglect.

“The sheriff ‘s office went out to serve an arrest warrant today and came across this poor emaciated soul, starved near to death, a prisoner out on that huge chain tied to that tree with that filthy blanket,” Stacey Silverstein, co-founder of the rescue organization posted on their Facebook page.”

Neighbors knew about the dog, now named Maddox and never called animal control for help. Occasionally someone would throw Maddox a few pieces of food – how he ever survived remains a mystery. Had it not been for a Richland County Sheriff’s Office deputy serving a search warrant, Maddox may never have been discovered and left to suffer even more.

Late Thursday evening, the rescue organization posted an update on the dog’s condition:

“Here he is at our SC vet after his blood transfusion. He is only 23 pounds but his pcv went up to 19 after so that is very good news!!  we will update as we get more updates. Thank you for your support!”

  1. I am literally STUNNED that an officer in SOUTH CAROLINA did anything for this dog, as MANY of them act like Hitler’s NAZIS. MOST of them turn a blind eye, while claiming “there’s nothing wrong” with the dog’s conditions. THANK you sir for “actually” trying to “serve and protect”. May God bless you for that.

  2. To the DEMON spawned NAZI neighbors who WATCHED this poor dog “waste away”…..may Karma find YOU ALL with a flesh eating disease, extreme skin cancer, or an extreme viral load of COVID.
