A homeless senior dog, who tucks himself in at a Quincy, Michigan, animal shelter each night, will no longer be alone. The Humane Society of Branch County has announced that the dog, named Scooter, has been adopted.

In an updated Facebook post, the animal shelter shared the good news:

Thank you everyone!!!! I believe a past adopter will be coming in the morning for Scooter!!!! Thank you for the love and caring hearts here!

And then:

UPDATE: SCOOTER HAS BEEN ADOPTED

On Saturday, a woman commenting on Scooter’s Facebook thread writes:

I will be there in the morning! Scooter will be spoiled and loved to enjoy his senior years!! 💞🐶

Scooter was taking in at the animal shelter after the death of his owner. He garnered a great deal of attention because of his nightly routine of tucking himself into blankets at the shelter.

  1. Congratulations, Scooter! Updates are DEEPLY appreciated because it is VERY FRUSTRATING not knowing if an animal has been rescued or adopted–also, you don’t know whether or not to keep donating.
